Key Features of Voice SMS
Overview Key Features  |  How it Works
The main features of OnMobile's Voice SMS technology are:
The duration of the voice message is configurable giving added flexibility to the user and to the Operator
The application deploys "Grunt Detection" technology-messages that do not include voice are not saved. For example, users might access the voice mail to send across a message but abort the process before recording. In such cases, the Grunt Detection detects the silence and does not record the message
Once the voice SMS is sent, the system notifies the sender of delivery using voice or SMS
The recipient can discard the message immediately or on a later date, as defined by the system
Users can review the recording and re-record the message before sending it. This gives them the freedom to tweak their message
Emotions and different intonations in speech can be recorded
Since, an audio file is created, dialects and cultural mix in languages are handled without any difficulty by OnMobile's Voice SMS product

Dynamic Promotions
While sending a voice SMS, users have to add a prefix to the number they want to call. Operators can enhance their service offering by allowing users to save this Voice Message number (i.e. prefix + phone number) in their phone address book. OnMobile facilitates this with Dynamic Promotions, a feature that is part of OnMobile Campaign Manager.

For example, Patrick makes a call to Zina on 98000-98000. The operator can cross-promote Voice Messaging to Patrick by sending him a promotional message with the following text: "The Voice Message number for the person you called is 12-98000-98000. Save this number in your address book. You can send Voice Messages for just 50 cents per message."
