Optus’ mobile customers will be able to access unlimited music downloads with the launch of downloadable music application, MobMusic.

Powered by OnMobile's multimodal technology, MobMusic allows customers to enjoy music tracks from record labels like Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music, and Warner Music Group. “As mobile phones become faster and smarter, our customers are demanding more choice and more tailored content. Optus has seen customers become more confident when using the mobile internet and mobile applications,” Optus Consumer acting marketing director Anthony Hearne said.

“Our customers are increasingly turning to their mobile as a form of entertainment and music is always high on the list of customer demands.” Hearne added that MobMusic’s design adapts music content for mobile devices offering a simpler music player. Its features include playlists, feature artists, music news, and a music-based networking feature which allows customers to view and incorporate others’ playlists.
MobMusic has also introduced its two music offerings, Music Discovery and Unlimited Music Downloads. Music Discovery gives customers five free music tracks, which they can listen to throughout the week. Unlimited Music Downloads, on the other hand, allows customers to receive unlimited downloads and download as much music as they want.
